Chamber's Trademark Too Weak To Nix Other Group's: USPTO
A U.S. Patent and Trademark Office panel ruled Monday that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's trademarks were weak and deserved only narrow protection, shooting down the Chamber's bid to cancel a trademark registered by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In a 107-page ruling, a three-judge panel from the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board denied the Chamber's petition for cancellation of a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce trademark registration, which covered the HCC's name and a logo.
